Navjyot S. Sachdev

A finance professional for four decades, Navjyot started his career in the industry with Deloitte Chartered Accountants, before entering the hospitality industry as a Manager of Accounts & Systems for the Taj Group of Hotels in India where he spent 8 years before joining Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts, overseeing the finance function for properties in Southeast and North Asia as well as the Middle East. In his last position in the 25 years, he spent there, he was Vice President Finance, overseeing the Asia Pacific region. He created the shared Service Centre in Singapore and rolled out similar centres in Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Manila and Sydney.

He helped simplify processes and redrafted policies and procedures for the Group, and developed a productivity tracking and roster system for labour management in current tight work.

Post this, he spent a year with the Millennium Hotels and Resorts as Vice President, Finance – Optimisation & Projects, focusing on optimising costs including labour in the tight Covid situation.

He is well versed with labour and other laws in Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia and Philippines. His core strengths are costs controls, F&B cost controls, system development, IT, projections, pre-opening and Projects accounting.

Kunal Sachdev

Kunal is a fully qualified Australian banking and finance lawyer having spent the last 12 years in South-East Asia undertaking legal and financing matters in Thailand, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Singapore, Vietnam and Myanmar.

Currently also serving as the Group Head of Legal and Compliance at Lightnet and Velo Labs, Kunal was previously the Deputy Head of DFDL’s Regional Banking, Finance and Technology Department where he has been recognized by the Legal 500 as one of the top young lawyers in the field.

Kunal’s legal experience ranges across various legal sectors such as corporate & commercial, banking and finance, energy and infrastructure, consumer protection, technology, cyber security and data/information privacy. Kunal has advised and represented several of the largest banks and international financial institutions in the world in relation to the financing of small and large projects, capital markets and regulatory compliance.

Kunal holds a law degree from the University of Adelaide and has been admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales, Australia. Kunal is also a Qualified Chartered Secretary having obtained his qualification from the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators in London, United Kingdom.

Kunal's expertise and steady experience has had him included in the Legal 500's General Counsel Powerlist for 2023 and 2024 amongst the country's best company counsel.

Kabir Sachdev

Kabir Sachdev is a seasoned business partner with a robust background in finance and accounting, offering a wealth of experience from his previous roles as a financial controller as an advisor to Aegis Consultants. He is a certified accountant from Australia, and his career spans over 14 years, during which he has developed deep expertise in finance, accounting, taxation, and legal matters, with a particular focus on the hospitality industry, notably Hotels & Resorts.

His career includes significant positions at prominent organizations such as PricewaterhouseCoopers in Singapore and Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts in South-East Asia. At these roles, Kabir played a crucial role in managing the finance and accounting departments of companies with annual revenues exceeding USD 100 million. His responsibilities involved overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with complex international accounting standards, and driving strategic financial decisions.

Kabir’s international experience spans multiple countries in South-East Asia, including Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines. This exposure has endowed him with a comprehensive understanding of diverse and intricate taxation regulations specific to each region, ensuring rigorous compliance and adherence to local tax laws.

At Aegis, Kabir leverages his extensive financial and taxation expertise as a business advisor. His role involves supervising the financial and tax dimensions of the company, providing strategic advice, and safeguarding the financial interests of clients. His depth of knowledge and experience ensures that Aegis Consultants deliver sound financial guidance to all its clients while maintaining robust compliance with all relevant regulations.​
